Rael Zimerman
Attorney | Proprietor of Taitz and Skikne
Rael has a BA LLB degree. He qualified in 1997 and has been practicing as an attorney for 22 years.
He specializes in the following areas: commercial law, family law, criminal law and insolvency law. He is admitted to appear in the High Court and appears regularly on behalf of clients. He also sits as a commissioner in the Small Claims Court.
Rael is a registered debt councilor and registered with the National Credit Regulator and runs a debt counselling business known as Debt CPR, to assist clients who are in financial difficulty.
Rael’s passion is consumer law and assists consumers in legal battles against corporations, and he is often in the High Court fighting banks and financial institutions as he specializes in the Consumer Protection Act and the National Credit Act.
Bruce Rubenstein
Attorney
Bruce is an associate at the firm. His educational qualifications include a B.A. LLB. H.Dip. Company Law, MBA and AMP. He runs the business rescue and insolvency department.
Bruce is an experienced Attorney having been exposed to the commercial business world for some time. He has both a perspective from the development of businesses to their breakdown. Bruce is experienced in commercial transactions, liquidations and business rescue.
Bruce is admitted to practice as an attorney of the Supreme Court.
Mpho Christopher Tsotetsi
Attorney
Mpho obtained his BCOM (LAW) and LLB degrees from the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2013 and 2015 respectively. He entered into a contract of articles of clerkship with Taitz and Skikne Attorneys in March 2016 and was duly admitted as an attorney of the High Court on 18 September 2018.
Mpho is experienced in High Court and Magistrate’s Court civil litigation, including personal injury law (RAF, state liability and medical negligence claims) and unlawful arrests.
Varusha Devandran
Attorney
Varusha is the head of the Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice departments. She obtained her LLB from the University of the Witwatersand in 2014 and was admitted as an attorney in 2016.
Daniela de Abreu (LLB)
Daniela obtained her LLB in December 2014 at the University of Johannesburg and she commenced Articles of Clerkship with Taitz & Skikne in February 2016.
Daniela deals with numerous litigation matters and runs the correspondence department for the firm. Her passion lies in Family Law.
Gabriela Narotzky (LLB) (LLM)
Gabriela commenced her articles in 2018 with Taitz & Skikne Attorneys upon obtaining her LLM in Commercial Law in 2017 and tutoring Business Law for the University of Johannesburg Law Faculty.
Her passion lies in commercial work and insolvency law but practice has certainly expanded her interests in various areas of law. At Taitz, Gaby is primarily involved in the litigation department alongside commercial matters and debt review applications.
Pamela Orelowitz
Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer
Pamela graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in 2009 and a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) in 2011. She was admitted as an Attorney in September 2014, admitted as a Public Notary in June 2018 and admitted as a Conveyancer in March 2019.
Her passion is mediation involving all aspects of family law, from drafting divorce agreements, to parenting plans.
Her practice areas are property law and sectional title law, conveyancing, family law and notarial services.
Lisa James
Office Manager
Lisa James is the office manager and manages the financial department of Taitz. Lisa started at Taitz in January 2000 after relocating from Port Elizabeth. She has been promoted on several occasions over the last 18 eighteen years and has a vast amount of knowledge and experience in debt collection, litigation, commercial and debt counselling. Lisa also works closely with Rael and manages all his personal and business-related requirements.
Lisa successfully completed the CSTI Debt Counsellor training course and was awarded a certificate through Credit Skills Training Institute course during March 2007.
She is dedicated and committed to the firm’s management and instrumental to Taitz & Skikne’ s success and growth into the future.
